Sterling 825

Rover doesn’t have a particularly great reliability record. In fact, they’re unanimously one of the most unreliable brands the world has ever seen. We say one of the most unreliable, because the title of most unreliable probably goes to Sterling. The 825 was a rebadged Rover 800-Series, which in turn was a rebadged Acura Legend, i.e. a rebadged Honda Accord. So, effectively, the 825 underwent triple transplant before customers even got it. The end result was abysmal. The paint was washed away in mere weeks from the rain and you were lucky if the electronics lasted you a couple of weeks.
