Subaru 360

Next up is another very small car. The Subaru 360 weighs in at 1,000lbs. It was designed after WW2, when Japan created a new set of light car regulations. It was one of Japan’s most popular cars available during it’s run (From 1958 – 1971), and was available in several styles. A coupe, station wagon, convertible (with a roll-back fabric roof), and a sport model. 10,000 of them were imported and sold in the US, advertised by importer Malcolm Bricklin (who you may remember from another car on our list) as “Cheap and Ugly”.
